LOGO So simple, yet so complex! To capture the essence of an organization in one small icon is a true art. It’s a process that starts with strong communication skills aimed at discovering precisely who and what the organization is and how they are (or want to be) positioned in their industry. From there the creative skills kick in to create the perfect mark that is unique, bold, timeless, and memorable. There are many kinds of logos—most are associated with a company or organization identity, but they are also used for events and even individual people. A logo says a lot about what it represents—what does yours say about you?
BRANDING The key here is consistency. Every occurrence of the brand must be immediately identifiable—this runs the gamut in size and shape from business cards to billboards and web sites to product packaging. Depending on the complexity of a logo, different versions are needed in different situations. Strict standards for usage need to be developed and adhered to. This includes specific colors, size ratios, and spacing considerations. You may provide a number of products or services that might have logos of their own, but tying them all together is your brand. Brand recognition is built on consistancy—and brand recognition is a very good thing!
